Ce vitrail de papier a été créé dans le cadre de l’exposition Play, design pour les martiens, organisée par Fotokino au Château Borély, Musée des arts décoratifs à Marseille. Les feuilles, dont les formats sont ajustés aux fenêtres, présentent des formes géométriques simples, qui sont en réalité des lettres palindromiques (P-L-A-Y). L’impression offset recto/verso sur papier fin permet de jouer avec la transparence, et la dorure à chaud d’y associer des contre-jours et des reflets. Le blocage progressif des encriers au calage a permis d’avoir une multiplicité de combinaisons recto/verso révélées ensuite par le passage de la lumière. Les exemplaires restants ont été pliés et ainsi transformés en livres.

This paper “stained-glass” window was designed in the context of the exhibition organized by Fotokino at Château Borély, Musée des arts décoratifs in Marseille, entitled Play, design pour les martiens. Each sheet, its format adaptable to the shape of the windows, is printed with simple geometric forms that reveal themselves to be the letters P L A Y. The transparency of the thin paper, offset printed on both sides, results in interesting light and color effects, while the hot foil printing both blocks out the light and adds reflections. By progressively restricting the flow of the ink fountains during setup, a multiplicity of recto/verso combinations, visible when viewed against the light, was obtained. The remaining exemplars have been folded in order to make them into books.
