L’association Les Trois Ourses a été fondée par des bibliothécaires passionnées. Elle diffuse des livres artistiques pour enfants, et défend le travail de créateurs par le biais d’expositions et d’ateliers. Ces documents ont un petit format, adapté aux mains des enfants et des lecteurs délicats. Ils sont conçus pour tenir debout, à l’image de cette association ambitieuse et modeste. Ils se posent comme des volumes et ont valeur de signes. Le texte est composé dans une typographie dessinée à partir du dessin original du Futura. Mais les terminaisons sont ici arrondies, à mi-chemin entre avant-gardes et lettrage enfantin… Chaque document existe en deux versions: une version typographique (informative), et une version graphique, intitulée Livre paysage. Dans cette version, seules certaines formes ont été conservées dans les lettres afin de constituer un paysage à la lisière de l’abstraction: constellation, prairie, plage de galets, sol grouillant de vers de terre… Chaque document de communication a permis d’éditer un petit Livre paysage, renforçant la mission de l’association.

The association Les Trois Ours was founded by passionate librarians. They publish art books for children, and promote diverse artists work through exhibitions and workshops. These documents are small in size, suitable for children’s hands and delicate readers. They are designed to stand up on their own, in the image of this ambitious yet modest association. They stand as a volume and defend the values of symbols contained within. The text is set in a typeface inspired by the original design of Futura. But the endings are here rounded, mid-way between avant-garde and childish lettering… Each document is available in two different versions: a typographical version (informative), and a graphic version, titled Livres paysages. In the latter version, only certain forms have been preserved in the letters, to form a landscape on the edge of abstraction: constellations, prairies, pebble beaches, soil teeming with earthworms… Each communication document made it possible to edit a small edition, reinforcing the fundamental mission of the association.
