Les trente livres présentés dans mon exposition Feuilles volantes ont pour dénominateur commun mon implication dans leur conception éditoriale et graphique. Ils ont tous été investis de façon singulière, en dehors du cadre de la commande, en me positionnant tour à tour comme autrice, initiatrice, plasticienne ou accompagnatrice éditoriale. En plus d’incarner de façon métaphorique cette production éditoriale, les Feuilles volantes sont des pages littéralement échappées de chacun de ces trente ouvrages. Choisies soigneusement par mes soins, puis ré-imprimées à partir des fichiers archivés, mais dans des spectres chromatiques différents, elles en offrent une relecture dont la couleur est l’ingrédient essentiel. Mises à la disposition des visiteurs au fil de l’exposition, elles constituaient un paysage de papier mouvant, disposé en coup de vent pour former un nouveau projet éditorial, constellation à la reliure immatérielle. La scénographie ré-active une collaboration entamée avec Grégoire Romanet, il y a plus 15 ans, et dont Chaumont avait déjà été le théâtre avec l’exposition Encroyable. Il propose ici un ensemble de tables suspendues et boîtes à formes en mouvement perpétuel, faisant écho et servant de support à mes Feuilles volantes. Les presse-papiers dessinés et fabriqués par Pernelle Poyet apportent une touche ludique à cet ensemble polymorphe.

The common denominator of the thirty books presented in my exhibition Feuilles Volantes is my involvement in their conception and form. They were all produced outside the framework of a “commission” meaning that I had to be, at one and the same time, author, initiator, visual artist and editor. Standing as a metaphor for these projects, the Feuilles Volantes are pages that have literally escaped from each of the thirty works. Having made a careful choice, I then had the selected pages reprinted from the archived files, but in different chromatic spectrums, offering a rereading of them where colour is the essential ingredient. Accessible to visitors throughout the exhibition, they constituted a moving paper landscape, blown here and there and coming together to create a new unbound project out of the randomly scattered pages. The exhibition design gave me the opportunity of renewing – after more than 15 years – my collaboration with Grégoire Romanet. That too was in Chaumont with the exhibition Encroyable. Now he suggested using an arrangement of suspended tables and various shapes of constantly moving boxes, echoing and serving as a support for my Feuilles volantes. The paperweights designed and made by Pernelle Poyet brought a playful touch to this heterogeneous collection of works.
