Il existe peu de catalogues consacrés à Berthe Morisot, c’est pourquoi j’ai souhaité que les intentions graphiques soient simples. Ainsi, la couverture est entièrement investie par une peinture dont le découpage visuel s’inscrit en harmonie avec la structure du livre. Le dos rond, la dorure noire, la mise en page classique donnent à lire l’œuvre de l'artiste sans fioritures, comme il se doit, afin de contrecarrer le prisme de la «femme-artiste».

Very few catalogues are devoted to Berthe Morisot, which is why I wanted the graphic design to be simple. The cover is entirely occupied by a painting with a visual division in harmony with the structure of the book. The rounded spine, the black gilding and the classic layout allow us to read her work without embellishment, as it should be, in order to counteract the categorisation of Morisot as a “woman artist”.
