J’ai investi la palissade du chantier du Signe, centre national du graphisme à Chaumont avec les faces tarotées d’un jeu de cartes. Imprimées sur le dos bleu du papier affiche, elles sont recouvertes de motifs créés à partir de chacun des logos des 6 partenaires – ou acteurs – du chantier. Un clin d’œil à ce support parfois investi comme support publicitaire. Elles sont collées de façon irrégulière et recouvertes au fil du temps, comme un jeu de cartes en vrac, jouant avec le relief de la palissade. En regard, certains panneaux d’affichage de la ville sont occupés avec le recto de ces cartes à jouer. Imprimées sur la face affiche du papier, elles déploient leur motif de façon aléatoire, comme un virus. Cœurs sur la ville!

I decorated the metal fence surrounding the construction site for the International Centre of Graphic Design in Chaumont, with tarot-like faces of playing cards. Printed on the backside of blue poster paper, they’re covered with patterns, each inspired by one of 6 logos representing the sponsors – or contributors – to the site. A nod to the common use of this format, for advertising exposure. They are glued irregularly and overlap here and there, like a loose deck of cards, playing with the corrugated relief of the fence. In reply, certain billboards in the city display the front of the playing cards. Printed on the front side of the poster paper, their pattern is displayed randomly, like a virus. Hearts all over the town!
