Ce catalogue monographique retrace l’œuvre et le parcours de cette grande artiste libanaise, peintre et poétesse. Les rabats de la jaquette déploient, à petite échelle, le chemin de fer de l’ouvrage, à la manière d’une constellation d’œuvres multicolore. La peinture reproduite en couverture est imprimée en 2 techniques (offset et dorure à chaud). Le nom de l’artiste est doré avec le même bleu mat présent dans l’œuvre, créant ainsi une intrication matérielle entre texte et image. Les initiales EA sont reprises pour la page de titre, qui introduit les parties textuelles (monochromes) du livre. Une partie est consacrée à Paul Klee qui a fortement inspiré Etel Adnan. Une biographie complète est mise en page de façon composite: les événements personnels de sa vie sont mis en regard et tissés avec l’actualité du monde, ce qui lui donnent l’aspect d’un journal, ancré dans la notion du quotidien.

The catalogue is devoted to the work and biography of this important Lebanese artist, painter and poet. Appearing on the flaps of the book cover is a scaled-down flat-plan of the book, presenting a multi-coloured constellation of the works. Two techniques were used for the painting reproduced on the front cover (offset and hot foil stamping). The name of the artist is applied in the same matte blue as that in the accompanying painting, thus creating a material connection between text and image. The initials EA appear again on the title page before the (monochrome) textual part of the book. One section is devoted to Paul Klee who was a strong influence on Etel Adnan. A full biography is set out in a composite way with the personal events of her life interwoven with world events. The effect is of a newspaper, rooted in the idea of daily life.
